Dear Friends of EMS Station 7,

We are so deeply grateful for your support for EMS Station 7, located at 10th Avenue and 23rd Street. In these difficult times, generosity and community support are the forces that will soothe the mind and body. We are all struggling to make sense of this new reality, but those on the frontlines of this pandemic are putting their lives at risk for the benefit of all of us. This project grew out of appreciation for their efforts.

We are into the second week of operation. Last week we were able to ramp up to delivering two meals a day to EMS Station 7, and, at their request, we delivered two meals to EMS Station 10 (Yorkville). All of the food was from local Chelsea restaurants, providing more income to the generous restaurant owners and their staff, who are also struggling to continue providing food to the community. Thanks to your support, we have delivered 16 meals thus far, serving over 480 meals to our brave and skilled EMTs, providing nourishment and a huge morale boost. And this week we are going strong.

As of this writing, the NYC Shelter in Place order has been extended to April 29th, 2020. We need your continued support to ensure that we can continue providing service to our front line sisters and brothers. Concretely, this means in order to continue serving two meals a day, we need more resources. This battle is indefinite, but our resolve is firm. Please help spread the word in our community — and do your part by Staying In!

We want to acknowledge and thank the following restaurants for their generous participation:

Murray’s Bagels

The Meatball Shop

Mexique

The Rail Line Diner

Pastai/Qanoon

Don Giovanni

Pepe Giallo

Chelsea Square Restaurant

F. Rozzo &Sons Seafood

Fle-Fle Grill

Calle Dao Chelsea

Mamet’s Fruit and Vegetable Stand (W. 23rd St. & /9th Ave.)

Thank you for your donation. Stay safe and stay healthy.
