Here’s What’s Happening This Week (in order of appearance):
MCB4 Full Board Meeting / Coffee at the Curb / Coat Drive / Community Needs Assessment Survey /

The Full Board Meeting of Manhattan Community Board 4 (MCB4): Wednesday, November 5, 6:30pm Online via Zoom & YouTube and In-Person at Pier 57 (25 11th Ave. at W. 15th St.) | The entirety of MCB4’s membership meets monthly to discuss, and then vote on, policy-driven letters generated by its committees (including the Clinton / Hell’s Kitchen Land Use and the Waterfront, Parks & Environment committees). Upfront, time is set aside to hear from elected officials or their reps. Local residents and stakeholders also have two chances to speak–via a Public Hearing whose topic is about to come before the board, and an anything-goes Public Session. Speakers are given two minutes–one if the evening’s agenda is particularly packed. (The agenda is posted the Friday before the meeting, and can be found here.) To attend via Zoom and sign up to speak during the Public Hearing and/or Public Session, click here. (there’s also a sign-up sheet at the in-person venue). Want to attend via phone? The call-in number is 646-828-7666 (Webinar ID: 161 368 0437). Attend via livestream on MCB4’s YouTube channel–the Forever Home, in archive form, of all MCB4 meetings.
Coffee at the Curb: Saturday, November 8, 10am to 12pm in front of 360 West 22nd Street (btw. 8th & 9th Aves.) | “Meet your neighbors” is the premise. “Coffee and baked goods” is the promise. And “You bring the conversation” is the pretty affordable price you pay. That’s it in a nutshell, for this welcome new socializing series from the 300 West 21st, 22nd & 23rd Streets Block Association.
Coat Drive: Saturday, November 8. 10am to 12pm at 410 W. 40th Street (btw. 9th/10th Aves.) | Manhattan Community Board 4 and Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries, hosts of this event, ask that you, “Please consider donating new or gently used coats for children and adults who live in shelters in MCB4 district.” For questions, contact MCB4 District Manager Jesse Bodine via email: jbodine@cb.nyc.gov.

Take the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) Community Needs Assessment Survey | This collection of feedback gives NewYorkers the chance to shape the future of their neighborhoods by identifying what City programs and services are needed the most. Happening now through November (and possibly further into the fall), the online survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. ”Your answers,” the DYCD assures, “are confidential and anonymous and will be used only for program planning.” To take the survey, click here.
