Election Day Voting /The February Full Board Meeting of Manhattan Community Board 4 (MCB4) / Community Board Applications Accepted Through February 27  

Election Day: Tuesday, February 3 / Polls Open 6am to 9pm to Vote in the State Senate District 47 Special Election | With Brad Hoylman-Sigal having become the Manhattan Borough President, 2026, a Special Election has been called to fill his vacant State Senate seat. That area of coverage–New York’s 47th District–includes portions of Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Hell’s Kitchen, and the Upper West Side.

Early Voting began on January 24 and continued through February 1–and in the end, its all come down to this: Tuesday, February 3, 2026. On the ballot: NYC District 3 Council Member Erik B

The Full Board Meeting of Manhattan Community Board 4 (MCB4): Wednesday, February 4, 6:30pm Online via Zoom & YouTube and In-Person at the Hotel Trades Council  (305 W. 44th St. btw. 8th & 9th Aves.) | The entirety of MCB4’s membership meets monthly to discuss, and then vote on, letters generated by its committees (whose names tip one off to the subject matter they’re tasked with keeping tabs on. (Committee names include “Chelsea Land Use,” “Waterfront, Parks, & Environment,” and “Business, License, & Permit”). Local residents and stakeholders are given two opportunities to speak: During a Punbblhave two chances to speak–via a Public Hearing whose topic is about to come before the board, and an anything-goes Public Session. Speakers are given two minutes–one if the evening’s agenda is particularly packed. (The agenda is posted the Friday before the meeting, and can be found here.) The February 4 meeing’s Public Hearing section welcomes comments on proposed legislative changes to NYC’s Outdoor Dining Program and–after that–the matter of DeWit Clnton Park North with Note: This will be the second full board meeting presided over by MCB4’s new Chair, Leslie Boghosin Murphy. Manhattan Community Board Applications Accepted Through February 27 |  Newly installed Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal (MBP) has already embarked upon one of his marquee responsibilities: Appointing new members to Manhattan community boards. “I served on my local community board for over a decade and deeply appreciate the importance they serve to the local planning process, budget priorities, and city services. I hope you’ll consider serving, too,” said the MBP in a January 21 email to constituents. In order to be considered for appointment, a complete application must be submitted online or postmarked by no later than 5pm on Friday, February 27, 2026. Click here to access the application.
