This Week In & Around Chelsea: March 23-29, 2026

Here’s What’s Happening (in order of appearance):

Easter Egg Hunt / 10trh Precinct Community Council / Chelsea Neighbors United: ICE Out of Our Park / Coffee & Conversations / West Side Community Fund: Spring 2026 Grant Cycle | E-Waste + Textiles Recycling Day

MARCH 25 DEADLINE TO RSVP to Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday, March 28, 10am to 12pm at Chelsea Green Park (140 W. 20th St. btw. 6th & 7th Aves.) | The solid milk chocolate ducks; the marshmallow PEEPS; the baskets overflowing with Robin Eggs and jelly beans! As every good kid in search of a sugar buzz knows, Easter comes in a close second to that all-time champ, Halloween. But that’s many months from now–and Easter is just a hippity-hop away–to Chelsea Green Park, on March 28. Besides the eggs promised in the event’s title, this annual happening (presented by NYS Assemblymember Tony Simone) offers face-painting, coloring, and candy prizes. Event organizers ask you to RSVP by March 25, HERE. See the flyer, directly below, for details.

10th Precinct Community Council Meeting: Wednesday, March 25, 7pm at the 10th Precinct (230 W. 20th St. btw. 7th & 8th Aves.)| Having assumed Commanding Officer duties late last year, one of the general public’s all-too-rare opportunities to meet CO Capt. Timothy Wong (and pose questions) happens as he represents the 10th Precinct at March 25’s Community Counci meeting. Organized and moderated by Council President Larry O’Neill, this monthly citizen-run event features a Q&A session, with the Commanding Officer normally in attendance to provide answers. Unlike Council meetings of the past few months, this one is a brick-and-mortar affair, happening at the 10th Precinct’s 230 West 20th Street locatiuon.Want to keep up with Council goings-on? Chelsea Neighbors United: ICE Out of Our Park — A Public Action on Thursday, March 26, 4:30pm to 5:30pm at Pier 57 (11th Ave. at W. 15th St.) | ICE’s vehicle parking arrangement with Hudson River Park Trust (HRPT) is the topic of the latest such public protest from Chelsea Neighbors United (CNU). Demands from local residents and electeds caused HRPT to declare they would not renew the parking contract, which runs through early summer–but that’s not good enouch, says CNU, who point out that Hudson River Park (Pier 40 in particular) will soon see a surge in foot traffic, as the weather warms. Hence, this March 26 action. See the flyer, directly below, for details.

Friends of Chelsea Green Presents Coffee & Conversations: Friday, March 27, 8:30am to 9″30am in Chelsea Green Park (140 W. 20th St. btw. 6th & 7th Aves.)| Friends of Chelsea Green invites you to stop by Chelsea Green Park for an anything-goes gab session sweetened by the prospect of complientary coffee and pastries. See the below flyer for details.
