OBSTRUCTION OF GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION: Bad Behavior Was on His ‘Plate’ | A 22-year-old man was taken into custody just after 4:30pm on Sun., May 19, after causing a real scene—a crime scene—in front of 415 W. 25th St. That’s where the arresting officer saw the defendant double parked. When confronted, the man let loose “offensive language,” calling attention to himself, and causing a crowd to gather. When the officer attempted to view the car’s license plate, its foul-mouthed owner attempted to block the plate—and also refused to produce identification. The defendant countered the arresting officer’s attempt to handcuff him by clasping his hands and leaning against the vehicle. Ultimately, the arrest was made—with no small amount of effort, but no injuries.
PETIT LARCENY: Summer Wardrobe Stealer | A man of high standards and low morals—perhaps planning a trip to the beach for Memorial Day—decided to swipe a starter kit for his sizzling hot summer wardrobe, by visiting a swanky store at NYC’s newest neighborhood, Hudson Yards. The theft took place just before 7pm on Sat., May 18, inside the spiffy new Vilebrequin store (one of the luxury retail experiences that comprise The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards.). Cameras caught the man removing a white shirt with multicolored stripes, and a pair of multicolored swim trunks, valued at a total of $450. Cameras inside the store caught the crime against fashion.
LEAVING THE SCENE / PROPERTY DAMAGE: E-Bike Baddie | A woman was left with injuries to her leg, when an e-bike (electric bicycle) collided with her old school, human-powered bike, as the 46-year-old victim was at the corner of 11th Ave. and W. 17th St., traveling northbound. After the collision, the e-bike rider got back on and drove away—leaving no information, and showing no concern for his victim (who was removed from the scene by EMS).
