To that end, CCNews will provide information about accessing knowledge, equipment, and funding to further your good cause of choice.

Anticipating discussions on everything from criminal recidivism to urban gardening, CCN gratefully announces the following confirmed attendees, who will answer viewer questions after speaking about their guiding purpose and current projects.

Scheduled to Appear:

—New York City Councilmember Erik Bottcher (District 3: Village, Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen) will speak about the crisis of mental illness in NYC, and its connection to public safety and quality of life.

—Members of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Community Partnerships Unit will be in attendance to talk about their work.

—Pamela Wolff, president of the preservationist group Save Chelsea, speaks on behalf of the Council of Chelsea Block Associations (CCBA), which uses the collective voice of its membership to improve local conditions.

—Samuel Turvey and Lynn Ellsworth, co-coordinators of the Empire Station Coalition, will discuss the “urban renewal-style destruction of the Penn Station area.” NYS Gov. Hochul’s plan, says Turvey, provides “no clear path toward upgrading our rail line infrastructure” while showing “great determination to decimate the neighborhood.”

—Missy Adams and Phyllis Waisman of the Chelsea Garden Club discuss the joys and challenges of being a Volunteer Gardener. (Chelsea Garden Club coordinates the plantings you see in bicycle lane tree pits along Eighth and Ninth Aves.)

—Scott Stiffler, founder/editor of ChelseaCommunityNews.com, tells you how to be a viable candidate for the next round of West Side Community Fund Grant applications, whose winners are awarded as much as $10,000 to begin or support actions that benefit West Chelsea.
