Friends of Chelsea Green, the frightfully hard-working group responsible for the year-round programming of spirited events in Chelsea Green Park (140 W. 20th St.), saw hundreds of costumed celebrants fall under the spell cast by “Hocus Pocus Harvest.” The Sunday, October 20 event marked 2024’s entry in the FRIENDS’ annual Halloween shindig–an event so sprawling that it flowed out of the park and into West 20th Street, filling the block between Sixth and Seventh Aves. with activities, entertainment, and candy-based opportunities from several dozen local vendors (including Abracadabra NYC, Bourke Street Bakery, Ken Wa Kan, Kids at Work, Lilac Chocolates, Tony Ice Cream Truck, and World Arts East). Chelsea Community News’ Christian Miles was there to see (and photograph) it all, yielding the below collection of images.
