With less than six months until its inaugural class of undergrads arrive, Vanderbilt University is moving full speed ahead with the work that will transform former General Theological Seminary grounds into its NYC campus.

Curious to know what’s going on beyond those tall walls and great iron gates? Vanderbilt continues to make good on its transparency pledge, via its Weekly Construction Update e-newsletter (click here to sign up). Scaffolding and sidewalk bridge info and noise level estimates are among the current edition’s content.

For those wanting more nuanced, detailed intel–and a good, strong cup of complimentary java to go with it, there’s Coffee & Construction. This monthly informal gathering encourages neighbors and residents to stop by and connect directly with the project management team and event facilitator James Kellerhouse (assistant vice chancellor for strategic initiatives and executive director of operations and engagement for Vanderbilt University–New York).

For the February 20 edition, guests can engage with Nate Rogers (lead designer, from Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners); Meredith Christian, (project manager, from Consigli Construction); Danny Gladstein (project manager, from Cumming Group); and Melissa Santana (project lead of facade restoration, from Nova Construction Services). RSVP (appreciated but not necessary) can be sent to Matthew.g.koff@vanderbilt.edu.
