Billy’s Bakery, Chelsea Location | Billy’s is a Chelsea staple and an absolute go-to for me. Their banana pudding is the best in the city, no question===and the icebox cake and red velvet cupcakes are also favorites in our household. It’s been around for 20 years for a reason: Everything is consistently delicious. Supporting Billy’s means supporting a longtime small business that is truly part of the fabric of this neighborhood.

Anixi | Anixi is truly something special. It’s a vegan Middle Eastern restaurant that completely redefines what plant-based food can be. Their “cheese and egg” bread, which has neither, is so incredible you genuinely wouldn’t know the difference. It’s my go-to for special occasions. The photo to your left is from my birthday this past year. The chef, Guy Vaknin, has several other vegan restaurants in the area, each with their own creative concepts. It’s exactly the kind of innovative, forward-thinking dining experience that keeps New York exciting and worth supporting.

The Commons Chelsea | The Commons is home to the best egg sandwich you’ll find anywhere, period. Sam Nidel, the owner, lives above the shop with his family and pours so much care into both the food he makes and the community. It’s a true neighborhood business in every sense—personal, welcoming, and deeply rooted. Supporting The Commons means supporting small, family-run businesses that invest right back into the people they serve.
