BY CHARLES BATTERSBY | If you sill have a few nuts to crack in 2020, the Immersive Nutcracker Cocktail Fête is running through Jan. 26.

Attendees find themselves as guests at a Christmas party, where they will mingle with Clara and her family. There is virtually no dancing—but there is a scripted show about a group of people putting together an ad hoc performance of The Nutcracker.

There is sword fighting, a short dance for audience members, and a chance to portray reindeer—and one lucky person gets to throw a slipper at the Mouse King. There are also cocktails: Three different kinds of drinks themed around Christmas and the Land of Sweets are served over the course of the 90-minute show.

Audience members are encouraged to dress in costume, but there are costume pieces and props available for all attendees. The performance is also held at a highly photogenic manor, so the fête makes for solid Instagram fodder.

For people who miss this one, the same organization is also holding an Alice in Wonderland-themed event, beginning in April.
