Save Chelsea Presents Free Virtual Tours | The preservationist coalition Save Chelsea isn’t just about keeping buildings in tact–it’s about putting their efforts into context, by revealing what to most of us will be a hidden-in-plain-sight history of the streets we’ve walked down hundreds of times. Of their Gilded Chelsea History Tour, the group notes, “The greater Chelsea area from the Hudson River to the west, 14th Street to the south, Madison Avenue on the east, and 34th Street on the north is replete with reminders of its wealthy past from stores to social clubs to mansions. Not dissimilarly to the current real estate boom, Chelsea was a neighborhood of affluence for socialites and entrepreneurs. As interests began to move uptown, the wealthy followed, moving to Midtown South. As lengthy as this virtual tour is, it is only a sampling of the many gilded remnants that stood–and are still standing–in the Chelsea area. NYC Free Tax Prep offers trusted, professional service online and in-person to help you stay safe and avoid tax preparer fees. If you didn’t receive one or both Pandemic stimulus checks, NYC Free Tax Prep can assist with claiming the equivalent amounts as a “Recovery Rebate Credit.” Filers may also take advantage of a one-time look-back provision, allowing them to choose to use their 2019 or 2020 income for the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit.
