Chelsea Community News received this Open Letter from NY State of Health on May 8, 2021 and is reprinting it in the hopes it will help you find, and get, a vaccination for COVID-19. Getting vaccinated is the best way we currently have to protect ourselves from the virus, stop it from spreading, and get back the business of business as usual–but better than ever. Below, in its entirety, find the message from NY State of Health.

Dear fellow New Yorker,

The COVID-19 vaccines are available in YOUR neighborhood. The vaccines are safe, effective and free.

Now if you are 16 or older, you can simply WALK IN at any NYS or NYC run site and receive your vaccine. You can also book an appointment and reserve your spot. Take a look HERE or call (833) 697-4829 to find a convenient location and head over as soon as you can. Or go to vaccinefinder.org to see all the vaccine sites—including pharmacies—near you. It’s that easy.

Getting vaccinated is the best way to get back to the things you love and to protect yourself and the people you love. More than 100 million Americans have received a vaccine already.

It’s up to each of us to get vaccinated. Be New York Tough and together we will defeat this virus.
