2 Wanted in After-Hours Break-In Burglaries at Seventh Ave. 7-Eleven

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men caught on tape, on two separate dates, burglarizing a much-loved local franchise that was one of the first to open their doors after the March 2020, pandemic-inspired statewide closure of non-essential businesses. Since then, the 7-Eleven at 194 Seventh Avenue has solidified its place as an anchor business on the block between West 21st and 22nd Streets.

In the first incident: On July 21 at approximately 4:35am, police report that an individual entered the store by breaking the front  glass door. His very specific haul: $20,320 worth of cigarette cartons. Below, find the NYPD-released poster with more details.

In a similar incident, this one taking place at approximately 5:04am on August 3, police report an individual broke the front door, entered, and was caught on tape exiting the store with $3,254 worth of cigarettes, deodorant, candy, and other food products. Below, find the NYPD-released poster with more details.

If you have any information, please call 1-800-577-TIPS or 1-800-577-8477. Calls are confidential. If circumstances allow, please also consider stopping by the store and making a purchase as a way to support this small business.
