Meatpacking District ‘Treats’ Day Saw Streets Filled with Kids and Dogs and Queens, Oh My!

ALL PHOTOS BY IRI GRECO, BrakeThrough Media | www.brakethroughmedia.com | Sunny skies and pleasant temperatures cast their spell over the Meatpacking District on Saturday, October 22, as  Meatpacking (the area’s Business Improvement District) welcomed one and all to explore the streets, shops, and restaurants of the Meatpacking District during its 11am-5pm Treats in the Streets event. (And that’s not just a clever name: Everywhere you looked, local merchants were handing out free candy and other goodies.)

At 2pm, all eyes turned toward the high-fashion runway on Little West 12th Street that went from hosting Drag Queen Story Hour to showcasing the funky getups of our four-legged friends, as the 4th Annual Doggie Costume Contest commenced.

Keep scrolling down and you’ll see a few choice pix from that fur-flying free-for-all among the other photos taken by Ira Greco of BrakeThrough Media. As this time next week will see the season of ghosts and ghouls give way to the land of Santa an enchanted reindeer, keep current with all Meatpacking has to offer, when their holiday calendar activates.
