This Week In & Around Chelsea: April 27-May 3, 2026

Here’s What’s Happening This Week…and Beyond (in order of appearance):

The 10th Precinct Community Coincil / Coffee & Conversations / The Penn South Ceramics Studio Show & Sale: / Down to Earth Farmers Market Chelsea / ICE Preparedness Session

The 10th Precinct Community Coouncil: Wednesday, April 29, 7pm at the 10th Precinct (230 W. 20th St. btw. 7th & 8th Aves.) | Members of the public are encouraged to attend this monthly event, during which top 10th Precinct leadership will answer questions, provide information about local crime trends, and discuss crime prevention methods.

Coffee & Conversations with Special Guest, Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal on Friday, May 1, 8:30am to 9:30am at Chelsea Green Park (W. 20th St. btw. 6th & 7th Aves.) | Join special guest Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal for conversation, alongside coffee and pastries generously provided by the Commons Chelsea. Said event sponsor Friends of Chelsea Green in a recent email, “Whether new to the neighborhood or a longtime resident, this is an excellent opportunity to build community and share ideas.” RSVP here: https://www.facebook.com/share/17wLy43Rtc/.

The Penn South Ceramics Studio Show & Sale: Saturday & Sunday, May 2 & 3, 11am to 6pm at the Studio (enter at NE corner of W. 26th St & 9th Ave.) | Timed as a helpful precursor to that  gotta-get-her-a-gift appreciation occasion known as Mother’s Day, we’ve  long lauded this annual event as the one-stop shopping (and schlepping) destination for the perfect present to present to mom. Affordable, collectible, and often functional to boot, the Studio’s tables will display all manner of jewelry, plates, mugs, and more. So stop by with gifting mom as the premise, and pick up something for yourself–because by the time you leave, you’ll have Mother’s Day in the kiln. Sorry, “can”–in the can!  Questions? Send an email to pennsouthceramics@gmail.com.

Down to Earth Farmers Market Chelsea: Saturdays, 9am-2pm on West 23rd St. off Ninth Ave. | This month saw the welcome return of this opportunity to eat well, while supporting local vendors. See the below flyer for details.

Ice Preparedness Training, Preceded by Songs and Socializing: Sunday, May 3, 1pm at 346 West 20th Street (btw. 8th & 9th Aves.) | See the below flyer for more info, and click here for our preview of the event.
